Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
This policy explains how Talis Intelligence Inc. ("Talis", "we") handles information in the Talis platform and the Talis mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android (the "app"). Talis is a business tool: accounts are created and managed by your organization, and the information you work with in Talis belongs to your organization.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and a Google account identifier. Your organization may also give us your role and permissions.
- Recordings and transcripts. When you record an Echo note or meeting, the app uses the microphone to capture audio. The audio is uploaded to your organization's Talis workspace, transcribed and summarized there. The app records only after you start a recording, and it shows that recording is in progress, including on the lock screen.
- Photos and camera. The app uses the camera only when you choose to: to photograph something during a recording, to read a pH test strip, or to scan a QR code to sign in to a shared iPad. Photos you attach to a meeting are uploaded to your workspace. pH strip photos are analysed on your device and are not uploaded.
- Content you create. Notes, tasks, purchase requests, inventory records, lab entries and other content you enter in the app are stored in your organization's workspace.
- Device and usage information. We receive your device type, operating system and app version, plus a push notification token if you allow notifications. When the app hits an error, it can send an error report (the error message, app version and device type) so we can fix it.
The dilution and molarity calculators run entirely on your device and send nothing to us.
How we use information
We use this information to provide the service to you and your organization, to keep it secure, to send the notifications you have enabled, to provide support, and to fix and improve the app. We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for advertising, and the app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
AI processing
Talis uses AI models to transcribe recordings and to produce summaries and suggested actions. Your content is sent to those AI service providers only to perform that processing for your organization. It is not used to train their models.
Sharing
Information you create in Talis is visible to the people in your organization who have permission to see it. We share information with service providers that host and run the platform (cloud hosting, speech-to-text and AI processing, email and push notification delivery), only as needed to provide the service, and under agreements that protect it. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Storage and security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest and stored on secure cloud infrastructure, with access controls limiting who can reach it. Recordings that have not finished uploading are kept on your device until they upload. We keep information for as long as your organization's account is active, or as long as needed for the purposes above.
Your choices and rights
- You can turn off microphone, camera and notification access at any time in your device's Settings.
- You can ask for access to your personal information, or to have it corrected or deleted, by contacting your organization's administrator or us at the address below. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under data protection law.
Children
Talis is a business service and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you through the platform.
